I’m proud to announce that I have a new ebook on Amazon, Raising Readers: A Practical Guide for Parents. Reading is a passion of mine and always has been. I have three middle schoolers now who LOVE to read. Countless times friends and acquaintances have asked how I managed to raise readers. As a high school teacher, parents were constantly asking me how to encourage reading in their students. This book is my answer. The book started as a project that I wrote during Writer’s Workshop time in our homeschool classroom. I wanted to demonstrate to the kids that I was a writer too, sharing with them my process and struggles. As the book grew, I realized that it could find an audience out there in parents who wanted to develop a passion for reading in their kids but weren’t sure how. It’s written in an informal style, sharing personal stories and recommendations. And, because I realize it’ll be read by lots of busy parents, I kept it short and to the point.
