My heart for students and for high quality instruction has taken me many places in my career. From classroom teacher to online teacher and now…to professor. I’m proud to announce that since last April I have joined the faculty at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) to launch a new masters program focused on Education Media Design + Technology (EMDT). I haven’t been able to share about the work publicly because we were deep in development of the program. However, we now have a launch date of May 2020, and I’m so excited to share plans with you.

The EMDT program is a 34 credit online masters program focused on how technology can support teaching and learning. The entire program focuses on what research says about how to use technology successfully and how to use the design process to support learners. RMCAD is a leader in design thinking and creativity so this program is a great fit. The courses emphasize student-centered learning throughout and employ all manner of technology found in classrooms from Chromebooks to iPads to Virtual Reality. Classroom teachers, educational technology professionals, university technology advocates, and aspiring instructional designers will all find their place in the coursework. You can see more on the whole program here along with course listing and details: EMDT at RMCAD

And while my day to day work has changed, my passion for high quality online learning has not. This blog will still be filled with ideas that apply in online learning at all levels: K-12, undergraduate, graduate, and corporate. Thanks for all your support and I can’t wait to share what I’m learning with you.
